Know About the Book 'Organic Chemistry: A Short Course, 13th Edition by Harold Hart, Hadad, Craine.'
Anyone learning fundamental chemistry should read Organic Chemistry: A Short Course. This book is intended to provide an introduction to organic chemistry, yet it is densely packed with material and covers all the essentials. (Synthesis and reactions of twelve key organic molecule classes.) The chapters are well-written, well-organized, and brief. For me, the questions at the conclusion of each chapter were useful, and they frequently corresponded to the answers handbook. (If you've ever used a lot of textbooks, you know that the solutions don't always match the problems in the text.) I didn't notice any obvious mistakes in the content.
'Organic Chemistry: A Short Course, 13th Edition by Harold Hart, Hadad, Craine.' was a UC Berkeley extension course that was *extremely* short on teaching. Each lesson had a chapter from this book given to it, as well as questions at the chapter's end. There were no video lectures, modules with further teaching, or anything like that. The homework assignments and midterm were scored on correctness and accounted for 50% of the total mark, whereas the final exam was closed-book and proctored and accounted for 40% of the total grade. (Discussion questions accounted for 10% of the total.) Moreover, this to emphasise that, despite the lack of teaching, the course's grading was taken seriously. have this book plus the solutions manual as my only source of information and received an A in the course.
